How long shall I receive unemployment compensation for?
The unemployment insurance law as a rule defines the maximum duration of benefits for a 2-year basic period (basic period for drawing benefits). The key date for the beginning of this basic period is the first day on which you fulfil all the requirements for entitlement.

1 These categories of insured persons are entitled to 120 additional daily allowances if they have become unemployed within the last 4 years before reaching AHV retirement age.
